Custom Typing is for students in regular and special education! This is an online service, which is constantly being enhanced and upgraded.  You get all upgrades for free as long as you are a member.  No payment for site license upgrades!
As always, we are eager to hear your suggestions, needs and ideas. We want to make the web site work for you and your students.

Enhanced Reporting          Especially for schools!

We recently enhanced our reporting feature, to allow you to see information on more than one student at once.  You can choose which students you would like to view, and numerous options are available for customizing the report and graph display.  To try out this new feature, just click on the "reports" link from your administrator account.

> Quick-Tip:  Remember - admin. accounts are for staff members only. To view student reports, and to add new students or delete student accounts.  Students should not log in to the admin account.  Each student should have their own log in name and password.

Live ONLINE Speech Recognition Forms for Curriculum and Assessment

Speech Recognition is a new technology which shows great promise for many people with and without disabilities.

Both children and adults can become extremely effective and improve speed and accuracy of 'typing' using speech input.

We have developed an Online Curriculum and Assessment  for Speech Recognition on our Custom Typing web site.

Each user can log in and access the curriculum and assessment forms as part of the user log in.

All information entered in these forms will be stored indefinitely.  Information can be updated or changed, and once the 'Save changes' button is pressed, information will be stored in the forms.  These forms can then be printed out as a document providing information about the speech recognition training program.

Take a look at screen shots of the forms.

SPEECH input to produce text on your computer is not new.  However, speech recognition programs are becoming cheaper, computers are getting faster, and this technology is fast becoming an effective and viable method of input.

Take a look at our section on speech recognition on www.customtyping.com
(log in with your user name first)

We will be adding video demonstrations, tutorials and more information in the next few months.

New Features for Fall 2004...

We have numerous features planned for the 2004-2005 school year.  Here are some of the enhancements you can expect to see by Fall:

  • More reporting enhancements.  We're planning to add reports for our training modules, as well as convenient summary reports.
  • Custom exercises.  Create your own exercises for your students.  You can use this to link typing training with other subjects your students are studying.
  • Assignments.  Assign exercises and training modules to your students, to better direct their efforts.  When students log in, they will be taken directly to their assigned items.
  • Grouping of Students.  You will be able to place students into groups, for easier viewing, sorting, and reporting.  Students may be grouped by teacher, grade level, school, or anything you choose.  This will be especially useful to our customers with hundreds of students.
  • GAMES!   Motivational, fun, student-friendly typing games to make typing practice fun.
