New!  Animated Coaches and Extra Guidance for Beginners

We have implemented a new optional mode on the Custom Typing Training web site, in which your users can be guided through the training step-by-step using animated coaches.  The coaches talk, let your students know how they're doing, and provide encouragement.  There are several coaches to choose from, and they are especially great with kids.

This new mode, known the "computer-guided" mode, is useful when your students need thorough step-by-step guidance, and are not following a curriculum set by a teacher.  In this mode, the web site sets the curriculum.

As with all of our enhancements to the web site, current subscribers receive this upgrade at no charge.

Receive a Discount when you Renew your Subscription

If your school is a current subscriber to Custom Typing Training, you may be eligible for a discount when you renew your subscription for the 2005-2006 school year.  As a customer, when you extend your subscription, we will only charge the price difference between the old and new/extended subscription.  For instance, if you school has a 9 month subscription, and then renews for another nine months (for a total of 18 months), we only charge the price difference between the 18 and 9 month subscriptions.  This results in a significant savings over a purchase of a brand new 9 month subscription.

A subscription can be extended even if it has recently expired.  You can find our current pricing and ordering information on our pricing and ordering web page.

Coming Soon: Uploading of Student Information into the Web Site

During the first semester this year, we will be implementing a new feature in which you will be able to upload a spreadsheet containing student information into the web site.  Using the information in the spreadsheet, accounts for your students will be created automatically.  For large districts, this is a great way to reduce the time needed to set up student accounts.

Until this feature is implemented, feel free to send a spreadsheet to us whenever you have a large number of students to add.  At a minimum, the spreadsheet should contain the first and last names for each student, but can contain additional information such as a suggested username, password, and speed goal.  You can send your spreadsheets to typing@customtyping.com, and the accounts will be created within one business day.
